About Us

iSecurityPolicy.com is a division of BlackHat Consultants, LLC with its headquarters in Portland, Oregon.

BlackHat Consultants, LLC was formed by two former military officers with extensive backgrounds in Information Security and Counter Terrorism / Force Protection (CT/FP).  Our vision is based on the core understanding of the necessity for businesses of all sizes and industries to adopt security practices to protect their interests, including their customers, their employees, and their partners. Information Security is necessary for organizations to protect not only their clients, but their employees and partners. Information Security affects everyone in business.

Most IT consultants do not specialize in Information Security, so there is generally a void of attention shown to both regulatory & non-regulatory compliance. Our mission is to fill this void and provide Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) a set of professionally written Information Security policies that their existing IT provider will be able to enact without issue.

Tom Cornelius has a diverse background in Information Security that spans two decades. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, Tom served as an officer in the U.S. Army as an Information Security Officer (ISO).  Since then, he has worked in both the public and private sectors in positions including a Department of Defense (DoD) Information Security Consultant for the United States Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM), network engineer, project manager, principal security consultant, security architect, and Information Technology director.

Combining his Information Security expertise with a firm understanding of business as a business owner and technology as a network engineer, Tom spearheaded the initial Information Security Policy Manual (ISPM) framework in 2005 to provide a missing piece to small and medium businesses. This project evolved into iSecurityPolicy.com as a way to bring an affordable, professional service to businesses nationwide. If you have any questions for Tom, please feel free to contact him.
